The 2009 Beerfest:
This years Beerfest is Saturday August 8th, 2009. This one-day festival is a true celebration of all things brewed and is a great opportunity to sample, experience and learn about beer and cider in a relaxed and fun setting!
The spectacular Halifax Seaport will once again host the mostly outdoor site. Tented booths and pavilions as well as inside the spacious Pavilion 20, all near Pier 21. Armed with souvenir sample cup and guide, weurge you to explore the incredible range in styles and countries on offer.
Employ your senses, ask questions and keep an open mind – you will be surprised.
Highlights for year three include:
- 140 beers & ciders, half of which, are not available in the NSLC
- 9 Maritime microbrewers including new presenters Propeller, Sea Level and Rockbottom (our first Nova Scotia brewpub)
- An expanded Maine Pavilion with 22 Maine beers & all-new Ontario Craft Brewers Pavilion featuring 28 beers
- Local ciders from Stutz and Tideview as well as legendary Strongbow from England and McAuslan's Cidre Du Minot
- Great entertainment (as always), this year featuring Keith Andrews of Pogue Fado fame and “Old Wagon Whiskey”
- 40% More Washrooms
- Fabulous food offerings from four great Taste of Nova Scotia food partners....
Scanway Catering will be offering Atlantic Seafood Sausage with beet sauerkraut as well as Nova Scotia Beef Sausage with smoked tomato ketchup and house-made grainy mustard.
The Port Pub Bistro, from Port Williams, is featuring Pulled Pork Sandwiches.
Yarmouth's Rudder's Seafood Restaurant and Brew Pub have chosen to feature their famous Fresh Haddock Fish Cakes with Chow-Chow.
The Sweet Spot Chocolate Shop will feature chocolate covered popcorn and chocolate covered pretzels.
